    Award Winning Country Music Artists, Troy Cassar-Daley and Tania Kernaghan to perform at the 2019 Whittlesea Country Music Festival - Australia’s finest country music singers and songwriters will be out in force at the 2019 Whittlesea Country Music Festival (WCMF). This year’s stellar line up will be headlined by one of Australia’s most adored and awarded country music greats, Troy Cassar-Daley and will include performances by country music royalty, Tania Kernaghan. Troy’s career has spanned 10 studio albums over 30 years. Throughout this time he has been awarded numerous accolades including 4 ARIAS, 36 Golden Guitars, 2 APRA ‘Country Song of the Year’ awards, 9 Deadlys (Australian Indigenous Artist Awards) 4 ‘CMAA Entertainer of the Year’ awards plus 2 NIMAS. In 2017 Troy was the 50th inductee into the prestigious Australasian Roll of Renown.

    Tania Kernaghan is one of the other big names to appear at this year’s festival. As one of the Kernaghan ‘dynasty’ – her parents are Ray and Pam, big brother is Lee and sister Fiona, Tania is a sought after and respected country music performer, songwriter, television presenter and public speaker. She has seven career albums and a swag of awards including four Golden Guitars and the respect of the country music industry and fans alike.

    The 2019 WCMF will be double the fun with two sets of identical twins performing, Jetty Road’s Paula and Lee Bowman and Whittlesea raised twins, Yolanda and Yasmin Absolom from Flaxxon. Other country artists not be missed include Paul Costa and local artist Caitlin Thomas. The WCMF is the perfect summer festival catering to locals and visitors, families, music fans and people of every age. The 2019 festival will feature the night festival and street festivities during the day.

    The festival will kick-off on Friday 8 February with a free opening party at the Whittlesea Bowls Club featuring a performance from Tania Kernaghan. The main festival day’s entertainment commencing at 10am will be held in Church Street, Whittlesea. The street festivities will include live buskers, horse and cart rides, face painting and much more. At 4pm the free twilight concert will kick off at the Whittlesea Cricket Grounds (Walker Reserve) and at 9pm a spectacular fireworks display will light up the sky in between Troy Cassar-Daley’s show.

    “Securing outstanding Australian country music talent like Troy Cassar-Daley and Tania Kernaghan has been a big achievement for our festival. There was plenty of buzz and excitement on social media by music fans when we announced Troy and Tania would be performing. The festival activities offer something for everyone so it’s a great weekend out for the whole family.” says Festival Vice President, David Watson. The event is a regular fixture on Victoria’s festival calendar. Many regional Victorian visitors make a weekend of the festivities camping locally and enjoying both the Friday and Saturday activities. 

    The 2019 WCMF festival highlights include: - Performances by Tania Kernaghan and The McAvaneys on Friday, 8 February at the Whittlesea Bowling Club, Church Street, Whittlesea (bookings essential for this event Ph. 9716 1966). Saturday 9 February FREE Street Festivities, kicking off at 10am at Church Street, Whittlesea. Here you will find trader’s stalls, both local and from surrounding areas, an animal nursery, live buskers, bush poets, horse and cart rides, face painting and other fun activities for kids. FREE “Twilight with the Stars” concert at the Whittlesea Cricket Ground (The Walker Reserve cnr. Forest and Laurel Streets) an open air concert running from 4pm until late featuring Paul Costa, Jetty Road, Tania Kernaghan, Caitlin Thomas and Flaxxon. Headline act Troy Cassar-Daley will kick off at 8.30pm. Fireworks display, at 9pm followed by Troy Casser-Daley performance.
