Melbourne International Singers Festival will now take place from June 11th to June 14th 2021.Founding Artistic Director Dr Jonathon Welch AM invites you to BE CHALLENGED, INSPIRED & ENTERTAINED!RESCHEDULING MISF TO JUNE 2021
We have made the difficult but necessary decision that, due to the current health crisis, we will be postponing the Melbourne International Singers Festival from June 2020 and re-scheduling it to take place over the Queen's Birthday weekend on 11th - 14th June 2021.
Our first and foremost duty of care and concern now is to you - all our wonderful singers, volunteers, artists, musicians, choir managers, venues and their staff, with protecting everyone's health and wellbeing as our No 1 priority.
If you have registered for the Melbourne International Singers Festival already, below are the options that are available to you regarding the payment of your registration:
1. Transfer your MISF 2020 registration to MISF 2021 which will lock in the discounted earlybird price paid, despite any future price increases
2. Replacement of your MISF registration fee with a credit towards our other future Play It Forward concerts or programs
3. A full refund of your ticket price (excluding any interest paid if you used a credit card) via the charging method used to purchase tickets initially
4. If you are not able to attend our rescheduled or alternative events, you might consider donating your purchased ticket to Play It Forward, and help us continue to deliver our inclusive arts programs when they will be most needed
If you wish to discuss any of these options further, please do not hesitate to contact us by email or phone on the details below.
HELP US TO STAY CONNECTED
In an attempt to connect more with you, our tremendous audiences, if you have a story to tell or something to share about your memories of your participation over the past decade of fabulous events at MISF, we’d love to hear it on our social channels or via email so that we can share these good news stories. We will be posting some of our favourite moments from our past MISF performances and events over the upcoming months to share with you also.
In the meantime, please look after your mental and physical health. This is a very stressful and difficult time we are all experiencing as we are inundated and overloaded with so much news and information every time we turn the TV, radio or social media on.
Please make sure you switch these off if you're feeling stressed, and keep yourself busy and preoccupied. Listen to some of your favourite music, go for a brief walk in this beautiful sunshine, read a book, do some craft or gardening, and most importantly, stay socially connected by calling a friend to chat or reach out to one of the many helplines available, if you need to.
Here is a list of helplines you might choose to access in the coming weeks:
Lifeline 13 11 14
Beyond Blue 1300 224 636
Support Act 1300 731 303
We are thinking of you all and can't wait to return with our exciting festival program in 2021, where you will be challenged, inspired and entertained!
Yours in music, always,
Jonathon, Jan, Sarah, Caroline and all our amazing MISF Team.
