Returning to Malahang Reserve on Sunday 17 November, there are plenty of ways to get involved in the Malahang Community Festival. Malahang Community Festival is a celebration of the local community and all of its colour and vibrancy. This year’s festival will be on Sunday 17 November, 11am-4pm, so remember to save the date. This year we have an exciting line up of entertainment, activities and ways to get involved during the day.
You can expect to see/hear Dirtgirl; Banyule Has Talent stage (back by popular demand, the Banyule Has Talent stage will showcase some of the local communities’ best talent); Olympic Village Makers Market - Packed to the brim with local artists, collectors and trinket sellers, the Olympic Village Makers Market is perfect for some early Christmas shopping. Also a Sensory friendly chill out space - If the sights and sounds of the festival get a bit overwhelming, then take a break and relax on a comfy beanbag or participate in a quiet activity. Youth Zone - Banyule Youth Services will offer a range of activities including hair feathers, temporary tattoos and badge making. Kids Zone - Interactive activities will include sensory play, fruit workshops and make your own dreamcatcher to take home.
Volunteers: October 16 - Volunteering, 5.30pm - 6.30pm. At Shop 48, Bell St Mall, Heidelberg West. We are also offering drop-in sessions for people and community groups to pop by and introduce themselves and share their ideas for the festival. Every 2nd Wednesday until 16 October, 11am - 1pm.
