› Call for EOI: FREE Understanding Race and Racism Workshops

Location: online - Open in Google Maps -

CMVic is offering members a FREE place at our upcoming in-house training run by HUE. We aim to create a safe and focused space to talk about race and racism, so that we can then develop skills and strategies together that work towards both racial justice and inclusivity more broadly.

The organisation 'Hue' (www.hue.org.au) comes highly recommended for their approach, in their words:

We talk about the hard stuff - to create effective change we must talk about the root causes of oppression. Our facilitators support people to identify their power and privilege and support them to move through it & learn.

    • We talk with you not at you – it’s not a lecture.
    • We talk from lived experience - not just from theory.
    • We use peer-to-peer frameworks to develop understanding using activities and facilitated conversations.
    • We don’t silo issues - people experience multiple discriminations in their lives and we address the interconnected nature of them.

There are a limited number of places available. to express your interest email nicki@cmvic.org.au

Delivery is online in a highly interactive and engaging format. Participants must be avilable for both of these times:

    • Monday 3 October, 9:30 - 1pm  - Understanding Race and Racism
    • Monday 10 October, 9:30 - 1pm - Allyship in our Workplace
