Singing From Country says thanks to:
Community Music Victoria, and the Project Steering Group members (and friends) for the inspiration, initiation and coordination of Singing From Country, and a huge amount of voluntary work to facilitate the project. In turn, Community Music Victoria and the Project Steering Group would like to thank David Juriansz for his fantastic work in managing the scale, scope and demands of the project.
Our Project Partners – the Victorian Aboriginal Languages Corporation (VACL), Storytelling Australia Victoria and our funders, Regional Arts Victoria who administer the Regional Arts Grant.
Local ecologists Geoff Parks and Andrew Skeoch opened our eyes to nature. Uncle Rick Nelson and Rebecca Phillips brought us the wisdom of Dja Dja Wurrung language, culture and much more.
All the singers in the choirs, and their conductors: Gorgeous Voices (Carl Pannuzzo), Macapella (Tara Flinn) The Peace Choir (James Rigby & Jane Thompson), MaineSong (Wendy Rowlands), The Chat-Warblers (Jane Thompson), Youth Choir - with students from Winters Flat Primary School and Castlemaine Steiner School (Jane Thompson, James Rigby, Carl Pannuzzo).
Thanks to Fryerstown School, Maldon Folk Festival and Castlemaine State Festival for hosting our workshops and performances.
Finally, all the Songwriters who have created songs which celebrate our connection to country - in the past and for this project - may there be many more in the future…
