› Ukulele - more than just a toy!
30/Aug/2017
Have you always wanted to play a musical instrument but thought it was beyond you? It's never too late! Why not give ukulele a try.
Described as a musical smile, ukulele is fun and can be as easy or challenging as you like. At Bennettswood Neighbourhood House there are classes that cater for beginners as well as those with some experience. Come and strum along, learn a bit of finger picking, see how easy those scary looking chords can be. It's great to learn in a group where there is no pressure and everyone is learning at their own pace. Expect the unexpected with songs ranging from ukulele classics to rock, pop, folk and musicals, The Beatles to Queen, and Bob Marley to The Seekers!
Margaret Crichton is an experienced teacher who will lead you at a pace suited to you and give you lots of tips and tricks to help you along the way. You don't even need a ukulele at your first class. Advice on the type of uke that suits you best will be happily provided - along with a uke (or two) to try out.
