› Latrobe Valley Community Choir welcomes new Music Director

Play It Forward is thrilled and honoured to announce the appointment of Dr Kevin Cameron as Latrobe Valley Community Choir’s new Music Director.

Dr Cameron, an award winning conductor and the Director of Performing Arts at Gippsland Grammar said “I am delighted to be working with the Latrobe Valley Community Choir and as a part of Jonathon Welch's Play It Forward family as we work together to build community cohesion, connection, and inclusion through music.

The future is bright with interesting musical projects and wonderful people with whom to make memorable music” said Dr Cameron.

Jonathon Welch, agrees, “I have had the privilege of knowing and working with Dr Cameron for many years, and have witnessed his incredible skill and talent as a conductor and music educator with people of all ages and all abilities.

He brings out the best in everyone he works with, and we are delighted to welcome him to our talented music and admin team and the Play It Forward family now”

Tineke Westwood, manager of the Choir explains “We are very excited to welcome Dr Cameron.  The choir has managed to stay connected by rehearsing remotely on Zoom during the past two years with projects like ‘My Valley, My Home’.  But nothing beats singing together in person and we are so happy to be able to sing together again, in a wonderful new rehearsal space in Traralgon. Our future is very exciting!”

Rehearsals begin in person with Dr Cameron and his wife Tanika, who will accompany the Latrobe Valley Community Choir from March and we welcome new members of all ages and backgrounds, without any auditions.
