  • › GCM2: Calling All Community Music & Arts Workshop Leaders!

    18/Nov/2020

Here at CMVic we are working hard on securing funding to implement Stage 2 of ‘Growing Community Music’ (GCM2). The project over time will be implemented statewide but is aiming to begin with three regions of Victoria. It seeks to engage the broader community in participatory music and cross arts activities. The project also seeks to be open to and inclusive of participants from the diverse corners of our society; from people who may otherwise be regularly excluded from community music activities - because so many are regularly excluded! A fundamental aspect of the project is to find relevant and appropriate ways to make community music making accessible to all.

This is a wide call out for community music (and music integrated with other arts) participatory workshop leaders; leaders who work in a variety of settings/genres/styles/ages/genders/instruments/integrated arts, leaders from a variety of cultural backgrounds and leaders who enjoy sharing leadership strategies and skills.

The project aims to draw workshop leaders primarily from the local regions, and in addition to these there will be people whose unique skills and experience can be shared across the state.

If you are one of these potential workshop leaders, please respond! We are calling for Expressions of Interest for Project Artists.

Note: This is not an application, one line answers are all we need.

    Let us know your:

    • area of interest or expertise
    • age,
    • gender,
    • cultural background
    • area of diversity (if relevant)
    • profile of participants of current or past groups that you lead/have led

Please send this information to us via email to info@cmvic.org.au marked for the attention of the GCM2 Project team.

The project is, of course, dependent on funding however we are feeling optimistic enough to put the call out and move from the planning to the implementation stage! We need you!

Please pass this on to anyone who you think might be interested.

    With warm wishes,

The Growing Community Music Project Team
