Community Music takes off in 2019 with opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to learn and or play music at the Dandenong Ranges Music Council in the grounds of Upwey High School. All ensembles will be resuming rehearsals in February:
Ranges Young Strings – primary and secondary students who have been learning for a minimum of 18 months and can read music: Mondays 4.30 – 6.00pm.
Dandenong Ranges Orchestra – for strings, woodwind, brass and percussion – all ages, all abilities: Mondays 8.00 - 10.00pm.
New Horizons Band – lessons and band rehearsal for adult beginners or lapsed players: Thursdays afternoons at Tecoma Uniting Church.
Dandenong Ranges Big Band – meet on Thursdays 8.00 – 10.00pm.
Happy Wanderers: singing group who perform each week at Nursing Homes.
Mini Maestros: sessions held on Saturday mornings.
In Schools Music: with Andrew McAlister on Thursdays and Sunday evenings.
Instrument Tuition: piano, strings and flute.
Venue Hire available. Instrument Hire available.

Tribe Talk with African Drums – 12 April 2019
A Youth Week 2019 Activity led by Roderick McLeod from Full Circle Drumming with Tribe Youth Group in Monbulk and Monbulk College.
Youth Music Awards Concert – Sunday 19th May 2019
Participants and winners of the Bill Borthwick Young Musicians Encouragement Prize, the Ann and Chris Krans Music Award and Upwey High School Music Prizes will perform at an afternoon concert on Sunday 19th May at 2.00pm at DRMC followed by an afternoon tea. Tickets: $10 Adults $5 Conc $2 Child/Student available at the door.
