› HMST Funding Offer Celebrated by CMVic!02/Dec/2020
Community Music Victoria is delighted to have been approved for funding from the Helen Macpherson Smith Trust (HMST), for the second phase of its project ‘Growing Community Music’. (GCM2).
Subject to securing matched funding, GCM2 will receive $186,000 from HMST’s Impact Grants funding round to continue its work to establish and support Regional Networks to invigorate and encourage greater participation in community music making activity. GCM2 will focus primarily on three regions of Victoria: East Gippsland, Mildura Regional City, and City of Casey and the shire of Cardinia.
HMST Impact Grants are allocated to projects that have strong potential to achieve significant impact in line with HMST’s vision for ‘a strong, just and sustainable Victoria’, and their mission to help build fair, creative and resilient Victorian communities through initiatives that promote positive change. CMVic has been a grateful recipient of HMST funding before, for both Victoria Makes Music and StreetSounds, and the organisation is excited and proud to receive HMST's recognition and support of its work, once again.
CMVic is optimistic that funds will be matched by the end of January and for work to be able to start on GCM2, at the beginning March 2021.
The Growing Community Music project has the potential to significantly improve the lives of thousands of Victorians in all areas of the state. We welcome all donations and assistance to get the next stage up and running! If you would like to donate, you can do so here.
