› Yarra Voices bursaries for changed voices28/Feb/2021
We are offering bursaries for changed or changing voice boys/people to join our Performing Choir who rehearse in North Fitzroy on a Thursday afternoon.
The performing choir is a great group of 20 kids (aged Year 6-9) and most are based in the inner north/north side of town, so it's a really lovely community vibe too if you know someone that lives in that area. We also have a junior choir Year 3-5 and a kids choir Year 1-2.
If you have anyone in mind that would suit the group please get them to get in touch! I can offer up to 75% bursaries for the first year if this will help seal the deal for anyone.
We're currently learning music by Paul Stanhope, Alice Chance, Dan Walker, Deb Cheetham/Jess Hitchcock and Josie Gibson. We have a concert booked at Fitzroy Town Hall where we'll be premiering a piece with Choral Edge that Juliana Kay has written called Mass for Tiny Voices and we have a combined concert with YVM booked at the convent for August.
We also have tutors that work with the kids individually to work through the Sight Singing School to develop their music literacy.
If you visit our website, there are more details about the group as well as rehearsal times. www.theyarravoices.com.
