Want to Create A Groups Page?

If you’re a CMVic member it’s easy to make a group page in no time!

Any CMVic member can make a groups page for a music group, choir, band, ensemble or jam session. You can even make a page for yourself as an ‘individual’.

To create a groups page follow the steps below:

Step 1:

Start by logging into the website. This can be done by clicking the “Member Login” link in the top left-hand corner of the website.
Once you’re logged in select the ‘My Control Panel’ link (which will now be located where the member login link was). This will take you to the CMVic Members Area.

Step 2:

Once in the CMVic Members Area, select ‘My Groups’ tab on the left-hand side of the page.
From the ‘My Groups’ tab click on the pink ‘Create A Group’ button.
You can now enter all relevant information, pictures and resources that will help promote your group!
Once your groups page is complete you can share the page link anywhere you like! Your page will be viewable to the public.

Not a CMVic Member?

No worries, contact us and we can list your group here at no cost so that people can find your group.

Check out our interactive google map for instrumental groups. Another handy way of searching for an instrumental group!

Hi Aaron,
I just created a group and have a couple of constructive comments!

1. The pale grey print at the bottom of the page giving me information is very hard to read. Too light.

2. Once I created the group it did not appear in my list of groups. I am guessing that it takes a few days to appear but I think there should be a message saying your group will appear in 24 hours or whatever, otherwise I’m left wondering if it worked.

Cheers

Hi Jane,

1. Which page are you referring to? having trouble finding what you mean..

2. Interesting as i’ve always noticed them being instantly created.. hmm.. Will make a note to discuss this in the Communications and Web meeting.. I would add the message but that kind of function needs to be changed by our web designer.

I checked after few weeks and the group still wasn’t there so I must have stuffed up. I created it again on Feb 17th and now it is there listed as one of my groups, but it is not appearing in the general search for groups (It’s Mirboo North Community Choir).

Also I decide I’d like to load some resources (songs) for the group, but the notice that came up saying I had to know whether or not I had copyright permission to do so was daunting so I decided not to. Might it be worth adding some guidance there such as “It is an infringement of copyright to post any lyrics or music unless the work is in the public domain. ie the author has been dead for 75 years, the work is a traditional song written by an unknown author or you have express permission from the author or publisher”. Or a more positive - “go ahead and put up songs or music as long as the work is in the public domain. ie the author has been dead for 75 years, the work is a traditional song written by an unknown author or you have express permission from the author or publisher”

Cheers Jane
