What is the homepage?

What is a category?

What is a forum?

What is a topic?

What is a post?

—- > FEAR NOT! (answers below)

THE HOMEPAGE

The HOMEPAGE is where your journey into CMVic forums begins. You can get to the homepage any time by simply clicking thing “CMVic Forums” image in the top left-hand corner of the screen.

A CATEGORY

A CATEGORY is the subject that groups forums together. These are the pink banners that divide up the homepage and have names such as: “How Do I Use CMVic Forums?.

Categories help to group forums together into easy to follow subject areas.

A FORUM

FORUMS are listed under each category. A forum is a place to post discussions on a similar theme.

Examples of some forums include: “CMVic Website Discussion Board” or “Sharing is Caring”. Within each of these forums there can be a number of topics that relate to the forum subject.

TOPICS

Topics within a forum relate to the subject of the forum but require separate disussions.

For example: In the “Sharing is Caring” forum you could post topics such as: “Cool Videos”, “Interesting Compositions” or “Music You Should Listen To” – each of these topics falls under the subject of “Sharing is Caring” but, in order to not be confusing, require separate discussions – or topics.

POSTS

A post is the end point of a forum. It is your response to a topic heading, or your reply to another members comments.

A post could read (just for example):

“Thanks Aaron! Your post has been super helpful! Now I not only understand the structure of CMVic forums but feel utterly radiant! THANKYOU!?”

…or something like that.
