Have you seen bands playing on the street and harboured a secret wish you could join in somehow?
Maybe you have an instrument stored somewhere that you used to play but stopped because you didn't have time?
Perhaps you've never played an instrument before but have always wantd to have a go.
Do you want to start a new group but don't know where to start?
Well CMVic is keen to help you get involved! There are over 300 groups listed on our Groups pages, and many of them are constantly on the lookout for new members to join them. If you think we can help you find a group, then contact us and we'll do our best to put you in touch with a suitable music group close to where you live or work.
If you want to start a new group then CMVic has been working with new groups and leaders to produce publications with advice and ideas, and to develop a mentoring system where we can put you in touch with someone who's done it before
Why does CMVic want to help in this way?
Our vision is for high quality participatory music-making experiences to be available to all Victorians, and our mission is to facilitate the development of the skills, opportunities and networks necessary to bring this about. Making music together is a great entry point into creativity and results in profound benefits to individual and community health and well-being.
